My lecturer said that as a Quantity Surveyor-to-be, we need to know how to manage the management in good ways. So, this semester we learn about the whole things of Project Management. For me, its kinda a boriiiiiing subject. But I must said that this subject brings a lots benefits in my future career.
This semester, I learn about Total Quality Management, Value Management, Financial Management, Environment Management System, Facilities Management, Safety&Health Management, and Leadership&Motivation.
So much chapters huh.
Every managements have different of definition, elements, and value. I made a few notes to memorise all the elements in every managements.
Total Quality Management
TQM is provide the business operations with specified procedures and efficiency targets.
There are 5 principles which are: Clarifying Concept, System and Process Management, Realizing Concept, Constant Learning, and Teams and Leaders. It also involved IS09000 that to ensure the product or service are constantly being produced according to the specified requirement.

Value Management is benefits to eliminate unneccesary cost and enhance the function of the construction project that may satisfy the client's need.
Financial Management is a management that may increase the market value of the business. It can either traded the shares in the Stock Exchange or the company is financed by the shareholders. The company need to prepare Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement to show the company performances.
Environment Management System that introduced ISO1400 (environmental policy) that may improve the environmental performance in construction industry.
Facilities Management aims in managing the building facilities that can satisfy the user's need such as lighting, humidity, fresh air, hygiene, etc.. It also maintain the services and ensure health&safety environment in the building.
Safety&Health Management that promotes the safety and health awareness among the employer and employees to have safe working culture. Employer, employees and safety officer have their own duty in order to improve performances.
Leadership&Motivation is more on how manager need to manage their organisation in proper ways and become a good leader. The BLAKE MOUTON Grid is characterised each types of the leadership
